Safina Month 12

July 31, 2009- Today we went to the kiddie pool in Williamsville. We didn't get to go swimming today, but we did get to play in the sand with our good buddy William, or King William, as Tony refers to him! Lots of fun times! She loves the sand box!

July 30, 2009- We have found the stairs and we LOVE THEM! The second she can get to them she is up to the top. It is very scary! We really have to keep an eye on that girl! We also had another play date at Erin & Ella's house, I think we have seen them every day this week!

July 29, 2009- Playgroup at our house! Safina had a great time with all her friends, I think she enjoys it even more now that she can walk! She is much more active with the other kiddos!

July 28, 2009- Safina and I took the car in for an oil change then afterwards we caught up with Erin & Ella again to go swimming at their Grandma's pool! The girls looked so cute in their suits! Safina loves swimming, but Ella just wanted to run around the pool and pick things up!

July 27, 2009- Lunch with our buddies Erin & Ella! Yummy, we went to Taffy's and had a very delicious lunch, then over to Erin & Ella's for some play time!

July 26, 2009- The weather can't make up its mind, so we decided to head home early today so we can get some stuff done around the house, of course it turns out to be a beautiful day, so we should have stayed up at the cottage! Gigi got a visit in and we were able to run to home depot (baby free) so that we could load the car up good!

July 25, 2009- What is with this weather, the sun peeked out for a little bit in the evening yesterday, but it just doesn't want to be nice out! We hung out, went for walks, played games, read books. "Uncle" Tony came up today and showed off his new truck! Safina liked playing in the bed of it! We had a great day, then a yummy dinner and then an intense game of Life!

July 24, 2009- Another not so nice day, booo! At least we have "Uncle" Sam and "Aunt" Laurel's arrival this evening to look forward to! Safina has started to give kisses! It is so cute, she either leans in with her cheek, or opens her mouth and gives you a big wet kiss!

July 23, 2009- Rain Rain go away! All day, downpours! We decided to take a road trip to Ikea since we were in Canada and didn't feel like getting stuck in the house all day! So off we went, it was a fun adventure and we got a few more things for my photography studio in the basement... I can't wait to set it up! Finally after dinner the rain let up for a bit, so we went outside to get some fresh air and enjoy the beach!

July 22, 2009- Off to the cottage we go! Uncle Kyle and Aunt Sarah are joining us for the day, but we are staying till sunday! The weather wasn't that great but at least it wasn't raining. The water was like glass and we wanted to go swimming so bad, but man was it feezing! Later on Damon took us for a ride on the boat, Safina wasn't so sure about it at first, but then she LOVED it!

July 21, 2009- So we are officially WALKING!!!! She is so proud of herself for being able to get around, it is so adorable! She also loves playing peek-a-boo and will initiate it around anything, a corner, a door, a book, etc, so cute! She is also mimicking words now, so sometimes she will say a word! Man she is growing so fast!

July 20, 2009- Trying to have a normal day to get Safina back on track after the busy weekend. After her morning nap we went to see Great Grandma to get the keys to the cottage and then we had lunch with Gigi so we could pick up the pack n play. Then while Safina took her afternoon nap, Mommy was packing like a mad woman for our trip up to the cottage.

July 19, 2009- Back up to Canada to visit with the family one last time before everyone leaves! Then we headed over to Uncle Andrew and Aunt Janet's new house! We helped them paint and pick colors for the rest of the house! Boy are we exhausted, what a week/weekend! Safina decided to be a tough sleeper tonight and woke up at 2am, and wouldn't go to sleep, it was a rough night, but hopefully we can deter it from happening again.

July 18, 2009- Grandpa's 80th Birthday Celebration! Off to Canada to celebrate Great Grandpa's birthday! We had a wonderful time visiting with everyone! It is so great when the whole family can get together.

July 17, 2009- YAY! Cousin Clio came over this morning to play! Uncle Kyle and Aunt Sarah joined us as well! We had a lovely breakfast, and then played for a little bit! Then Clio, Kyle, and Sarah left to go do Cave of the Winds with the family! We had an appointment then we were getting ready for a dinner party! We had a few friends over for dinner and had a really nice visit! We had a really yummy dinner too! Lime, dill, garlic grilled chicken, bowtie pasta with spinach, tomatoes and shredded swiss cheese, and grilled corn on the cob! Yummy! Safina spent the night at her Gigi's!

July 16, 2009- Having another play date today! Gabriella is coming over! Then off to the Quest Lab because poor little Safina needs to get blood drawn for a routine test (I am so nervous for her). Ok the test is over! She did ok, she cried, but was ok after it was over. Off to take a nap, and sleep the scary day away!

July 15, 2009- Trying to have a quiet day, since life has been so nuts lately! We had our friend William come over to play for a bit, which was a nice time! Safina kept stealing William's hat from his head, and he really did not like that! Later on we played in the sandbox and just hung out with daddy! Another workout for mommy after Safina's bedtime and then I ran to the grocery store, what a day, so much for low key!

July 14, 2009- Hanging out with our cousins today! Emma and Claire are up from Florida and Nicole and Frankie live around the corner. Aunt Tonya and Grandpa joined us as well! We went to the Buffalo Science Museum to see the Bodyworlds exhibit, very interesting but a little gross! We had a great time visiting and the girls couldn't get enough of Safina, and she just loved being passed around! That evening we all joined Uncle Adam and Aunt Joann for dinner and had a lovely evening! Then back home for bedtime for Safina and a workout for mommy!

July 13, 2009- Safina had her 1 year doctors appointment today! She is 20 pounds and 30 inches tall! She has a perfect bill of health (but has to get blood drawn to be tested for lead, routine stuff), she did get one shot, and boy she did not like that, poor thing! Not looking forward to the blood being drawn. This evening Mike, Jen and little Ryan came over for a visit and to wish Safina a happy birthday! The kids played and then we ate yummy pizza! After Safina went down for the night, we played with the lights in the photo studio! Ryan is one great model! Such a cutie!

July 12, 2009- Home Renovation day!!! Today Eric and Amanda and their beautiful girls Ava and Olivia came over to help with the replacing of our side door! The boys worked hard all morning while us ladies played! We had a great time, and the new door is looking good, just a few more touches to finish it off! After Safina's afternoon nap, we headed out to Root Five for some yummy dinner and were able to visit with Grandpa and Uncle Andrew! Safina had a great time and made lots of friends while we were eating! After dinner we headed home, little Safina was able to go to bed while mommy and daddy painted half of the basement to get ready for mommy's new photo studio!

July 11, 2009- Happy Birthday to Safina! Time to PAR-tay!!! We had some friends and family over for cake and ice cream! First we opened presents, she was very confused by this, but got into it, once she got the hang of it! Then off to play with her cake! The candle wax got her a bit, so that upset her (and I was awarded worst mother of the year), but then she got a taste of the frosting and forgot all about it! She loved the frosting and really didn't dive too deep into the cake! What a great day, and so fun to celebrate with so many that we love! She made out like a bandit and got lots of great presents! Thanks everyone!

July 10, 2009- Getting ready for Safina's first birthday party! Running last minute errands and spending time with daddy! WOW! One year old!

July 9, 2009- HAPPY 1st BIRTHDAY SAFINA!!! My little baby is officially one today! well, not till 6:40 tonight! I can't believe she is now a toddler! She is offically "walking" today! She walked away from the couch came over to her bib, stopped reached to pick it up, but couldn't quite get herself to stand back up! She doesn't do it all the time, but she is definitely capable of walking now! WOW!

July 8, 2009- Today we went to the park with our mom's group! Safina went on the swing by herself for the first time, and she LOVES it! She was in awe of all the big kids running around, and you could tell she wanted to jump up and go run with them! She is getting closer to walking, but not there yet!

July 7, 2009- Off to the zoo! Today we spent a few hours at the zoo with Uncle Kyle and Aunt Sarah! We had a blast pointing at all the animals and kicking our legs! Safina was getting very excited about things, so cute! We even went for a ride on the carousal, she loved it, but it made the rest of us sick! Tonight Mommy is going out to dinner with friends, so excited, mom's night out!

July 6, 2009- We have found the stairs! She loves climbing up the stairs, but has not learned the consequence of falling when not paying attention. So we now have to gate the stairs too! She is so fast, it is insane! She is really going to be taking off soon! We didn't do much today, grocery store, where she flirted with everyone, and then we just played at home.

July 5, 2009- Finish up some projects and just relaxing on this beautiful day. Daddy is painting the garage door, it looks awesome! The ugly yellow door is gone and now we have a beautiful white one! If we knew sooner that all we had to do was paint it, we totally would have by now! I will post pics when it has the second coat on it! Safina had a chance to visit with Big Grandpa and Gigi today too! She just loves her Gigi! She is getting so much closer to walking, One of these days she is just going to take off!

July 4, 2009- Preparing all the food, drinks, and tables for our party today! We are getting pretty good at this, I think we have it down to a science. We tried a bunch of new recipes today for the party, and they all came out awesome! We had a great time, and just relaxed with our friends! Safina had a great time playing in her sandbox and eating all the yummy picnic foods! She just loved playing with Molly Dog! She gets such a kick out of her, it is a riot to watch! We had a bon fire and went in the hot tub while watching the fireworks, can't get much better then that! Safina slept through all the fireworks, even though they were going off very loudly all around us.

July 3, 2009- PROJECTS!! Daddy is always keeping us busy with projects! Today we ran to home depot and got some things to finish up around the house. We hung curtains in our bedroom (to block the sun at 5am), hung a big picture collage, and cleaned the house! We were getting ready for the July 4th party! We also headed out to Hamburg to visit Grandpa, Safina is getting so much better with him. She doesn't cry anymore and she was actually playing with him! YAY! She also got a very cool birthday present from Grandpa and Grandma Kathy: Very colorful Fish ornaments which will go perfectly with her new room I am doing: Mermaids!

July 2, 2009- Today we hung out with "Aunt" Joella! We went shopping and had a yummy meal at Cheesecake Factory (boy do I need to stop eating out!). We had such a fun time catching up and buying fun things at the mall! After the long day, we came home and little miss safina took a nice nap!

July 1, 2009- Happy Birthday Gabriella! Safina and I had a lunch date with a friend from our mom's group, and it was her birthday! We went to the yummy poppyseed restaurant! So delicious! After that we headed home and enjoyed the afternoon with daddy!
